(Source: Oklahoma Historical Society) Enlarge An early view of Edward's Store before any major additions. Typical mid-19th century dogtrot, twin chimney structure |
(October 7, 2012) Enlarge Front and east side. There have been a few additions to the store since the days of the Butterfield Overland Mail. The majority of the hand hewn logs are original. Most of the additions and repairs were done to the sides and back. From the front the structure looks pretty well like it did when stage travelers stopped to stretch their legs and get a good meal before continuing their journey |
