Gun Pit Photos: These are Streight's gun pits which are strategically
positioned at various areas along the ravine of Crooked Creek. These gun
pits have been virtually untouched since they were made on April 30, 1863.
It is hard to see depth in photographs of landscape but if one looks close
the pits can be seen in these photos as well as the original stones that
were stacked around the front of the pits for added protection. Many of
the items on display in the museum have been found in and around these
pits since their discovery |
