Union Major General William B. Franklin is shown on the panel while reproductions of Union artifacts can be viewed in the case below the informational panel. Among the items are reproduction playing cards, a wallet, various types of Northern currency, matches, and a pipe for smoking.

(November 27, 2010)  Enlarge Burning of Alexandria and Blame Game Display Panel

Alexandria was burned by Union troops. There is plenty of evidence written by both the Federal soldiers who did the burning and looting and those Union men who wrote in disgust of what they witnessed. The "Blame Game" is not in reference to the burning of Alexandria, rather the section refers to blame for the disastrous campaign. Both Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter and Major General Nathaniiel Prentice Banks were were "called on the carpet" for what transpired under their watch.
