This stone building was constructed about 1790. During the battle, the church was under the charge of Reverend John R. Warner, who it was said, "exposed himself to great dangers to witness the Battle of Gettysburg." He later became a well-known guide to the famous battlefield. Confederate troops from Maryland were hospitalized in this area

The following five photos are of farms along Weikert Road (just south of Lower Marsh Presbyterian Church and 3/4 mile south of Fairfield Road). They were all used as Confederate hospitals during and after the battle
