(April 5, 2008) Enlarge This is one of the new interpretive signs in the kiosk at Sabine Pass Battlefield which replaced the old signs that are now gone. Note the drawing of the Davis Guards Medal. A photo of a replica of this medal is located in this website

(April 5, 2008) Enlarge This is a new standing interpretive marker which shows an artist's rendition of the battle and CSA Fort Griffin. When this photo was taken on April 5, 2008 this was the only upright interpretive sign and it is new. The previous signs were all gone, but it appears replacements will be added

(April 5, 2008) Enlarge Aerial view of the Sabine Pass Battlefield Park taken in 2005. It is superimposed on an artist's work so you can see the locations of present buildings and markers in relation to how the site appeared during the famous battle

This close-up is part of a larger interpretive sign

(April 5, 2008) Enlarge This sign is one of the new interpretive signs placed in the kiosk at Sabine Pass Battleground. The sign presents the visitor and maybe some of the viewers on this website with reasons the battle and campaign was not needed. Certainly there are contrary opinions to those in sign photographed on April 5, 2008
