(2006) A chain was stretched across the Mississippi River at Columbus, KY in an attempt to prevent passage of Union gunboats and commerce. This anchor secured the chain on the KY side of the river. The chain was supported by wooden rafts, but broke from it's own weight. The anchor is estimated to weigh 4 tons
