In memory of Thomas Payne, Fifteen Years Old. Confederate Soldier who rode with General Abraham Buford's Escorts. He was killed in the Battle of Harrisburg, Mississippi on July 14, 1864. His remains were lost but his memory will live forever! God Save The South. Marker placed by Sons of Confederate Veterans. Harrisburg Camp #645. Tupelo, Mississippi. 1997
