This photo was taken June 28, 2013 at the Museum of the Confederacy during a special exhibit of the battle flags used during the Battle of Gettysburg. This illustrious regiment from North Carolina was involved in Pickett's Charge where this flag was captured

This is an original metal awarded to the Davis Guards (Co. "F", 1st Texas Heavy Artillery) for turning back the Federal invasion of Texas at Sabine Pass.

     

(June 2013) Enlarge Prince de Polignac Sword
 
This is the cavalry officer sword of Confederate Maj. Gen. Camille Armand Jules Marie Prince de Polignac a French nobleman who was promoted to the rank of Major General for his actions April 8, 1864 at the Battle of Mansfield. The sword was photographed on June 28, 2013 at the Museum of the Confederacy where it is on display in the case with items related to the 1864 Red River Campaign.

This model in the Museum of the Confederacy depicts the CSS Teaser and a balloon. During the 1862 Peninsula Campaign both Union and Confederate armies used balloons to monitor the activities of their opponents. This model depicts the CSS Teaser in the James River with a balloon in flight above the ship.
