Historical Society The monument is dedicated to the Union soldiers from Chenango County, where Bainbridge is located. The monument is in the village park on the corner of Routes 206 and 7. Many regiments from New York were formed in this area. The 144th NYSV, The 89th NYVI, The 72nd NY were but a few. Many men from Bainbridge served during the war including my great, great, great grandfather James Warner who served as a blacksmith with the 1st PA Light Artillery. The western side of the monument reads. Erected In Memory Of Those Who Gave Their Lives To Save Their Country By The Hon. Henry A. Clark |
