General Kirby Smith's Coat

Edmund Kirby Smith's uniform coat dates from 1862. Smith commanded the Trans-Mississippi Dept of the Confederacy from 1863 to 1865

This Confederate battle flag was made by Jennie Cary for P.G.T. Beauregard in 1861. The flag, a revision of an earlier design, was adopted by Beauregard and other generals in northern Virginia and became the Confederacy's most enduring symbol
