Peach Orchard & Wheat Field - 15th New York Battery Monument

The cannons and monument are located along Wheatfield Road.

Intersection of Millerstown and Emmitsburg Roads

 
This is the intersection next to the Peach Orchard. The photo was taken from the Peach Orchard during a brief break in the traffic and shows the 63rd PA Volunteer Infantry Regiment's monument in the corner across the intersection.

Peach Orchard-Hampton's Battery PA Lt. Art

This monument is located on Wheatfield Road very close to the Peach Orchard.

Hampton's Battery "F" was raised in Allegheny PA (Pittsburgh's North Side).

For his service at Gettysburg, Pvt Casper Carlisle of this Battery earned the Medal of Honor.

William Clark wrote a History of Hampton's Battery "F".

Peach Orchard-Wheatfield- 68th PA Vol Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade , 1st Div. 3rd Corps "Scott Legion"


This monument is located on Wheatfield Road. It has the diamond shape of the 3rd Corps, Union Army of the Potomac at the top. The sun was perfect when we passed this monument so the photo was taken from our car.

The right resting 150 feet north as indicated by flank marker, In the afternoon the Regiment advanced southward into the Peach Orchard where its other monument stands and engaged the enemy. July 3rd and 4th the regiment was in line with the division on left centre Present at Gettysburg.

Soldiers and Sailors of the Confederacy Memorial at Gettysburg

This photo of the monument sculpted by Donald DeLue in 1964 is located on South Confederate Ave in the Gettysburg National Battlefield.

The flag-bearer appears to be charging forward while looking and waving back to rally the troops.
