(2008) Enlarge Close-up Marked stone on Old Federal Road, in Lookout Valley, at the Wauhatchie battle site
 
The inscription on the stone appears to be the name, SS Monds, Aug. 13, 1801-1802. It is believed that the inscription was done by a soldier in preparation for the Federal Road. The old road was used during the Civil War
