(3-95) Site where Union Col. Julius Raith, acting (3rd) Brigade commander, McClernand's (1st) Division, was mortally wounded on Sunday morning, April 6th. He was left on the battlefield overnight and was found the next morning by Confederates passing through the area. He died Friday evening after having his right leg amputated
