Enlarge This is where on April 3, 1865 a "minor skirmish" occurred. My GG Grandfather, John C. Bogert (3rd NJ Vol. Cavalry) was killed in that skirmish. The church served as a hospital that day, and many of the wounded were taken there. If you go there the local historian will let you in (it is normally locked) and you can see the blood stains on the floor of the church
 
This was right after the Battle of Five Forks, which is in close proximity
