These pictures were taken in Independence, Texas which is in Washington County. The first 4 pics are various views of the house of General Jerome Bonaparte Robertson whose war service included commander of the Texas Brigade of the Army of Northern Virginia from Oct 1862 to Jan 1864. He was also the father of the only Native Texan promoted to General during the war, Felix Huston Robertson, who also lived in this house. The other 3 pics are views of the historical markers in the town square, note the Texas Brigade flag on the flagpole.
