(September 2012) Enlarge View of Blue Bird Gap (Pigeon Mountain) from Davis Crossroads, south of Chickamauga, GA. The gap was one of several guarded by the Confederates during the Chickamauga Campaign. William T. Martins cavalry blockaded the gap on Sept. 8, 1863. Shortly after a detachment from Gen. Patrick Cleburne's command moved into the gap and were relieved on Sept. 17

     

(September 2012) Enlarge Davis Crossroads. Intersection of Lafayette/Stephens Gap Road and Georgia SH-193. Named after one of the pioneering families of the area. Troop movement maps indicate the the roads leading to the junction closely match the Civil War era alignment
