Located at Tour Stop 11 stands the Mississippi Memorial, one of the largest in the park.  The memorial was dedicated on November 13, 1909. The bronze work at the base of the memorial was fashioned in Rome, Italy and added in 1912.
 
This memorial was also damaged by lightning in 1951 and repaired in 1954. Narrative by Ed Conner, TN
