(Late 1980's)  General Johnston was mortally wounded near this tree, he died in the nearby ravine. His body was sent to New Orleans and was buried in the Metairie cemetery. His body was exhumed after the war and reburied in Texas. Courtesy of Kenny Meyers, Slidell, Louisiana
